Welcome to Protea Heights Academy

Protea Heights Academy opened its doors to its first classes of Grade 8 and 9 learners in 2015. Situated on the eastern edges of Cape Town, this school is conveniently located in the community of Brackenfell, making it easy for parents and children alike to access it. It is a dual medium school with a focus on mathematics and science.

This high school was a community dream made a reality. After construction began in 2013, the surrounding neighbourhoods waited patiently for this school to open its doors and welcome learners. After its first year, this school has already grown a considerable reputation for excellence.

Protea Heights Academy has embraced technology in its learning to offer students the best version of their curriculum. Doing so also helps prepare students for future careers and equips them with adaptive skills for the future. This school’s mission is to provide each learner with an excellent education with a math and science focus. Additionally, they strive to provide a superior education in their world-class facilities.

Academics at Protea Heights Academy

As this school prioritises maths and sciences, their academic focus revolves around these core subjects. No matter the grade, every student is required to take mathematics and a science subject, either physical or life sciences, up until matric.

Students at Protea Heights Academy are required to participate in at least one sport or society programme in each school term.
